About 2.5 years ago Addison was adopted as a rescue dog from Indy
Great Pyrenees Rescue. About 6 months after her adoption she was
diagnosed with Glaucoma and was in terrible pain. She had to have
her eyes removed due to the pressure and pain the condition was
creating for her, and she now has prosthetic eyes.
A few months after she became blind, Indy Great Pyrenees Rescue
gave her a great pyrenees male named Casper as her service dog.
He wears a bell around his neck so she knows where he is, and is
always nearby to help protect and lead her. Both need to go to a
home with a securely fenced yard, and no other dogs. Addison is
a bit of a dominant girl and her disability make it difficult to
adjust to new dogs in a household As you can imagine, change is
very upsetting for her. She is 4 and Casper is 5 and both are in
search of a home where they can be loved and members of the family.
They enjoy going for walks and car rides too. They are housebroken
and do not need to be crated. They are both wonderful and loving
dogs - however, Great Pyrenees are guard dogs, so they do bark,
especially Addison.
