Dixie was not yet 7 years old when she was mis-diagnosed. The vet's wait and see method caused her
to lose her eye sight in her right eye. We found a wonderful eye specialist who, for 3 years,
maintained with medication and constant care her left eye sight. When we lost our older
wheaten, Magic last November. The stress by that loss caused Dixie to lose her sight
completely. She has not missed a step. She is now frightened by loud noises, but her
spirit remains the same as it was when she was sighted. She is now 9 years old. We
sometimes hear that dreaded "THUMP" but for the most part, she navigates her way wonderfully.
