Her name is Peddles
and she is a spayed female, possible Chocolate Lab/Chi mix. . She
is now 11 months old, and 35 lbs. She is UTD on shots and on Heartgard.
She is located in Springfield, MO but I would consider out of state.
This is Peddles
story. I had a sale about a month ago and a older gentleman around
eighty stopped by. He saw that I had dogs and asked if I could give
his dog a home. I told him there was no way I could have another
dog. Then he told me the story. I guess he rescued the dog from
a bad situation. When he got her she was only 10 weeks old and was
nearly starved to death. He nursed her back to health and soon found
out she was also blind. He said that he was too old to take proper
care of her and wanted to find her a good home. So I gave him some
of the numbers of the local rescues. However, he called me on May
5th and said he still needing to find her a home. He did not want
to work with the rescues because he thought they were crazy that
they was going to find her a indoor home. His generation thinks
dogs should be outside only. I asked him if I could stop by, so
I could meet the dog. I went by there on Thursday, May 8th to see
the condition the dog was in. Also, the guy said she is having a
problem biting, so I wanted to see for myself the problem. I found
out she is not biting aggressively but trying to see with her mouth,
which could be corrected easily and does not cause pain. Even though
he seems to care deeply for this dog, she is tied to a stake in
the mud. He said she rarely gets attention because he is too old
and does not have the ability to take care of her the right way.
He thinks she is too hyper to be in the house. However, I told him
with the proper exercise she could be a good house dog. I told him
I could find a low cost clinic to get her fixed and he said he was
thinking of having her have puppies so she can enjoy them and would
not be so lonely. I told him, please no. He also thinks it would
be a bad idea to spray her because that she is so active that she
would tear the incision. He is not a bad guy, just a old guy that
knows no better and is in bad health. He is real concern for this
dog and can see the tears in his eyes when he talks about her. He
nursed her back to health, so he cares deeply for her. This dog needs
a loving and safe home, so she can live a normal life despite her
disability. She is sociable and loves people. She is ok with other
dogs but several at one time can be overwhelming to her. She needs
someone that has the time and patient to teach her. .
